Floody hell – Bournemouth light-heartedly announce cancellation of FA Cup tie
The romance of the FA Cup may not be what it once was, but at least humour is alive and well in the competition.
Bournemouth’s third round game at the Goldsands Stadium was postponed due to heavy rain, much to the disappointment of the Bury fans who had travelled in support of their side.
The scoreboard keeper decided to be creative and announce that the pitch had got the better of them and resulted in the cancellation of the game.
The officials had a second inspection prior to kick-off and deemed the waterlogged conditions too hazardous, with the scoreboard projecting this information is a light-hearted manner.
