Ferry moves to keep McClean on even keel
Derry City reserve goalkeeper Eugene Ferry will quit the club after next week's FAI Cup final to relocate to Sunderland as a live-in minder for James McClean.
Ferry will move in with McClean with a view to helping him settle in the city. McClean has struggled to adjust to life in Sunderland, and spends all of his spare time at home in Derry. The winger has got himself into trouble on Twitter, and some of his behaviour has simply been put down to boredom.
"Whenever he does something like that, he never talks to anyone before doing it, he just writes what's on his mind, whereas if he'd say it to me first, I'd try to stop him saying it on Twitter," explained Ferry, who hopes to find a non-league club in the area.
