Eva Carneiro ties the knot - but there is no sign of Jose Mourinho at wedding
Former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro got married in London yesterday but there was no sign of Jose Mourinho or any Chelsea player at the ceremony.
Carneiro walked down the aisle to long-term partner Jason De Carteret at St Patrick's Church in Soho and while there were some former players in attendance, none of the current regime were invited.
Forty-three-year-old Carneiro, who was born in Gibraltar, is suing Jose Mourinho for constructive dismissal following an incident on the opening day of the season when she went onto the pitch to treat the injured Eden Hazard.
The claim against Mourinho will be on the basis that he was instrumental in the actions against Carneiro in having her dropped from first-team duties and effectively demoted.
The controversy over Carneiro goes back to August 8 when Mourinho criticised her and head physio Jon Fearn for going on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard after being called on by referee Michael Oliver. The action meant that Chelsea were temporarily down to nine men against Swansea, and afterwards Mourinho called Carneiro and Fearn "impulsive and naive".
Carneiro did not appear on the bench again for first-team duties and is now seeking a claim for constructive dismissal after parting company with the club.
