Shane Long is a doubt for Ireland's Euro 2016 play-off with an ankle injury, but Wes Hoolahan is back in training with Norwich.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman reported that Long damaged ligaments in Poland that will rule him out for two to four weeks.

That would leave his play-off hopes in the balance, although there were positive soundings from the Tipperary native's camp this week.

"It's a disappointment but it's also part of football," said Koeman, who uses the Irish striker sparingly.

Hoolahan was restricted to a cameo role in Warsaw as he was feeling the effects of two injuries and he went for a scan upon his return to England.

But Norwich boss Alex Neil says he is fine, saying: "I think it's just a case of monitoring the load that Wes does over the week."
