A Northern Ireland fan collapsed and died during last night's international Euro 2016 match at the Stade de Lyon in France.

Robert Rainey, who was in his 60s and from Belfast, took ill during the game between Northern Ireland and Ukraine.

Emergency services attended to Mr Rainey but they were unable to resuscitate him.

His death occurred on a night of celebration for the Northern Ireland fans, whose team beat Ukraine 2-0. Last night, Northern Ireland's captain Steven Davis said: "It is terrible news and we'd like to send our condolences and deepest sympathies to his family."

Mr Rainey was the second Northern Ireland fan to die in France during the Euro 2016 tournament.

Darren Rodgers (24) fell to his death after Northern Ireland's game against Poland on Sunday.
