It was, sadly, no need for an excess baggage charge for Dubliner Zack Elbouzedi as he packed up and planned his trip home to Ireland, his work done for the year.

The medal he’d hoped for, for winning the top division in Swedish football, was denied to him by the narrowest of margins as his club side, AIK, were beaten to the title on goal difference by Malmo on the final day of the league last Sunday.
