Dunne sits out training ahead of Faroes clash
RICHARD DUNNE sat out Republic of Ireland training today as manager Giovanni Trapattoni maintained a cautious approach.
The 33-year-old, who Trapattoni said yesterday is "90 per cent" certain to start Friday's World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands, looked on as his team-mates went through their paces.
However, assistant manager Marco Tardelli later revealed he was rested as a precaution after making his first appearance for a year against Georgia on Sunday.
Keeper David Forde and full-back Marc Wilson trained in the gym as they continued to nurse knee and hamstring problems respectively, but both are expected to return tomorrow.
