NUI Galway fought off a late surge from University of Ulster Jordanstown to book their place in the final.
UUJ started much the better of the two teams, but they fell behind against the run of play when they were caught out by a set-piece, with Evan Kelly heading home.
Things went from bad to worse for Jordanstown. Shane Jennings was denied what looked like a certain goal by James Keane and it was the goalkeeper's quick thinking that allowed the Galway team to break, giving Enda Dunne the chance to make it 2-0 before half-time.
Jordanstwon threw everything forward in the second half, but a resilient NUIG defence stood firm until Jennings pulled a goal back with a fine header late on to set up a frantic finale.
