Drogs 'open' to takeover
DROGHEDA UNITED have made another urgent appeal for investment after their shareholders admitted they are no longer able to fund the running of the club and are open to a takeover.
Drogheda were relegated from the Premier Division this year after a troubled campaign and a steering group of fans looking to guarantee the club's survival have projected a shortfall of €150,000 for 2011.
"Under the circumstances, the only way in which the club can trade next season is with outside investment," read a statement from Drogheda.
A public meeting will take place in Drogheda's Droichead Arts Centre next Tuesday to discuss the situation.
