DDSL chasing eight-in-a-row
THE Dublin and District Schoolboys League (DDSL) are just one match away from winning the Kennedy Cup for the eighth time in a row after beating Cork 2-0 in the semi-finals in Limerick yesterday.
Goals in either half from Colm Deasy and Dan Casey enabled John Devine's charges to set up a final showdown with the North Dublin Schoolboys League, who overcame Galway 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 stalemate.
Deasy opened his side's account inside 10 minutes against Cork when he slotted home from inside the box following a neat through-ball from Grant Casey.
And Casey put the matter beyond dispute one minute from the end when he scored from the penalty spot after Anthony Breslin's header was handled on the line.
