Manchester United's outgoing chief executive David Gill is set to be elected unopposed to UEFA's executive committee today. UEFA sources said that one of Gill's rivals, Portugal's Fernando Gomes, is expected to announce he is withdrawing from the election. That will open the way for Gill as there would be just eight candidates for eight seats.
