He may have departed the bright lights of the Premiership and international football but Damien Duff is raring to go and ready to light up the A-League in Australia with Melbourne City.

The former Chelsea and Newcastle star joined Australian A-League club Melbourne City as a free transfer in a one-year deal at the end of last season. Since then, he's become a firm fans favourite with the Melbourne City.

Melbourne City is a wing of Manchester City's operation and do not start their league campaign until October, but Duff has been impressing in pre-season friendlies.

Duff is in good company at Melbourne City with former Barcelona star David Villa joining him or the first months of the new season before he joins Frank Lampard at New York City.
