Corinthians put in 'extra' spurt
College Corinthians 3, Tolka Rovers 0
THOUGH they needed extra- time, College Corinthians eventually saw off Tolka Rovers to book their place in the third round after this replay.
Despite being denied by a late equaliser in Dublin the previous weekend, Corinthians did enough on home turf.
It was Tolka who had the better chances early on, with Corinthians goalkeeper Rory O'Neill twice denying striker Darren Doyle, but in the second half the Cork side began to come more into it.
As the game neared the end of normal time, Tolka suffered a double blow as Ryan Swan was sent off, and then Paul Ryan was injured, but with three substitutions made, he was forced to carry on.
In extra-time, substitute Josh Kra got the breakthrough for Corinthians when he met Gareth Cambridge's corner. In the second period, Willie Heffernan capped his display with a goal before another sub, John Donovan, made it three.
