Charlton Athletic appeared to be drawn twice in the draw for the first round of this season's EFL Cup.

The Addicks were handed both a home tie with Cheltenham Town and an away trip to Exeter City, according to a graphic displayed during the ceremony.

The draw, held in Bangkok, was streamed live on the EFL's Facebook page but, due to an audio error, viewers were left to rely on on-screen graphics to learn who each team had drawn.

The graphics then erroneously showed Charlton playing in two ties, causing confusion among those watching from home.

Shaun Harvey, the EFL chief executive, compounded the error by reading Charlton's name twice when recapping the draw.

The EFL later confirmed that Oxford United were in fact drawn to play Cheltenham, with the confusion caused by a graphical error. Charlton will travel to Exeter.
