Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s decision to replace Petr Cech in goals backfired spectacularly tonight during the Champions League defeat to Olympiakos.

The Gunners chances of progressing to the knock-out stages of the competition took a huge blow tonight when their 3-2 defeat to Olympakos, on the back of their reverse to Dinamo Zagreb last time out, means the Londoners are bottom of the group before their double-header with Bayern Munich.

Wenger’s decision to rest Cech came back to haunt Wenger when Ospina’s awful mistake allowed the visitors move into a 2-1 interval lead.

He palmed an in-swinging corner down over his lien much to the dismay of the home crowd.

Celebrity supporter Piers Moragn was once again unhappy with the decision making of the Frenchman.

“Shocking by Ospina. THIS is why Cech should have played. Wenger fails again,” he posted on his Twitter account efore urging the club to go for former Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp.
