Connacht rugby stars be warned, Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is lucky to still have a head after he narrowly avoided a renegade tree branch as the club celebrated their Champions League win on an open-top bus.

While the incident can now be reserved for the humorous near-miss pile, Real Madrid’s joy at defeating their city rivals Atletico in the Champions League final for a second time in three years came within millimetres of turning to gory heartbreak.

As Los Blancos paraded their latest piece of silverware through their hometown on a roof-less bus today, Sergio Ramos was nearly decapitated….literally.

Lucky for him, Ramos he has the reflexes of the love child of a cat and Neo from the Matrix. Watch below as last night’s goal hero narrowly evades certain disaster
