Tottenham hero Son Heung-min admitted he was struggling to sum up his emotions after his side secured a dramatic victory in their Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's side saw their dreams of a quadruple trophy success shattered on a night of high drama at the Etihad Stadium, as a night of high drama ended with a VAR decision cancelling out a last minute City winner.

"This was madness," declared Son. "We had to suffer, but we fight together for 90 minutes. With all the emotion, I don't know what I am saying now.

"With the Champions League, I never saw a game like this. It was crazy and this is an unbelievable night. We are so happy."

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen admitted he was lucky after he was guilty of giving the ball away in the build up to what looked set to be a decisive City goal, only for a video review to deny Raheem Sterling a last gasp winner.

"I'm must be one of the luckiest guys on the planet today," said the former Ajax midfielder, who will now return to Amsterdam to play his old club in the Champions League semi-finals.

"With the last kick of the ball, we thought they had scored and I thought it was over, but thank God the referee gave it offside.  The whole game was a roller coaster. There was goals, goals, goals, goals and drama everywhere.

"We had a chance they scored, we had a chance and scored. We gave them a lot and also got a lot. It was a strange game to play in.

"After this, we will take a deep breath. We saw them going through and I thought it would be a fairy tale to play them. I can't wait to go back to the (Amsterdam) Arena."
