Four goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, including a five minute hat-trick, powered Real Madrid to a record-equaling 8-0 win over Malmo at the Bernabeu last night.

Karim Benzema bookended the night's scoring as Rafa Benitez's men finished top of Group A with some style. The French forward opened the scoring after 12 minutes and double his tally 12 minutes later before completing his own hat-trick with 15 minutes remaining. Real's Mateo Kovacic also got on the scoresheet after 70 minutes but Ronaldo stole the show, scoring four times in a 20-minute spell to bring his tally to 11 for the competition already.

PSV Eindhoven came from behind to beat CSKA Moscow 2-1 and secure a place in the last 16 after a late winner from Davy Propper saw the Dutch side leapfrog Manchester United in Group B. Propper struck on the run from the edge of the area in the 86th minute, six minutes after Luuk de Jong had revived home hopes. They had gone behind to Sergei Ignashevich's penalty in the 76th.

Sevilla will be chasing their third straight Europa League title after Fernando Llorente scored against his former club Juventus to secure a 1-0 win for the Spanish side.

Juve and Manchester City were already assured of a place in the last 16 but Llorente, who joined Sevilla from Juve in the close season, headed past Gianluigi Buffon in the 65th minute.

Atletico Madrid survived a late onslaught to win 2-1 victory over Benfica to secures top spot in Group C ahead of the Portuguese giants. Goals from Saul Niguez and Luciano Vietto put Atletico in command but Mitroglou made it a nervous finish.
