Man City prospect becomes youngest ever Englishman to start in the Champions League
With Man City already safely through to the Champions League knockout stage as group winners, Pep Guardiola has used tonight's game against Shakhtar Donetsk to take a look at the next generation.
17-year-old Phil Foden - who won Player of the Tournament as England won the U17 World Cup in October - was handed a starting berth for City in Ukraine, making him the youngest ever English player to start a Champions League game.
The goal-scoring midfielder has impressed Guardiola this season, already making two appearances off the bench in Europe.
Foden's underage pedigree is impressive, leading England to the final of the U17 European championship, where he was named in the Team of the Tournament, in addition to his heroics at the U17 World Cup.
