EAMON DUNPHY labeled Manchester United a ‘one tempo team which has no gears’ after tonight's 4-0 victory over Club Brugge in the Champions League qualifying round.
Dunphy also dismissed Louis van Gaal as a "bullshitter and a total spoofer" in his post match analysis.
“They’re a one temp team and they’ve no gears. There’s time when you need a player with experience like Bastian Schweinsteiger or Michael Carrick but you need to up the tempo,” said Dunphy on RTE.
“You need a game changer. That’s what United don’t have.”
Dunphy had said Schweinsteiger coming on at half-time showed United were going to ‘shut-up shop’. However, they responded scoring three times after the break.
The broadcaster also described United’s defence as a ‘shambles’ at the half-way mark (having called manager Louis van Gaal a ‘spoofer’ the day before).
Dunphy did not change his questioning tone at full time, despite United’s unequivocal victory.
“It’s a big result for United. It’s reassuring result for their fans. And for Rooney. People questioned him, I questioned him. But they still they have questions to answer.”
