Chelsea V Manchester United: key battles

Revenge is on the menu for both teams at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.

Chelsea are looking to make amends for their 2008 Champions League Final defeat in Moscow.

Manchester United have nine years of hurt in west London to make up for.

Here we look at where the quarter-final first-leg might be won and lost.

John Terry v Wayne Rooney

England team-mates, neither of whom are any stranger to controversy, and no quarter will be given. Rooney scored on the most recent encounter, Terry found the net last season. A heavyweight duel to savour.

Ashley Cole v Antonio Valencia

Cole was one of the few men to get the better of Cristiano Ronaldo. Now he must subdue Valencia. If he succeeds, and gets forward himself, Chelsea will be well on the way to victory.

Fernando Torres v Nemanja Vidic

In his Liverpool days, Torres tended to give Vidic nightmares. The Spaniard has been a subdued force in recent times though and is still to score since his £50m move south. Now would be the perfect time to start.
