Two of the best passing sides in European football meet at the Emirates tomorrow, looking to get the edge in their two-legged Champions League clash.
Here we look back on their previous meetings.
Barcelona 1 Arsenal 1 - 1999 The clubs first Champions League meeting, in the group stages, ended with honours even. Luis Enrique gave the home side the advantage after just 16 minutes before Kanu rescued a draw just seconds after Gilles Grimandi was red carded for an elbow on Pep Guardiola, the current Barca boss.
Arsenal 2 Barcelona 4 - 1999 A clinical showing from Barca's attackers left the Gunners with no chance at Wembley. Luis Enrique and Rivaldo scored with seconds of each other before Marc Overmars pulled one back for Arsenal. Dennis Bergkamp also found the net but there were further strikes from Luis Figo and Phillip Cocu.
Arsenal 1 Barcelona 2 - 2006 The next time the teams met it was in the Champions League final at the Stade de France. Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann was sent off early in the first half but Arsene Wenger's side held firm and even took the lead through Sol Campbell before the interval. It was not to last, though, with Samuel Eto'o and Juliano Belletti securing the trophy.
Arsenal 2 Barcelona 2 - 2010 Barca's first visit to the Emirates - in the first leg of the quarter-final - saw them dominate for 45 minutes despite not scoring. After the break Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice before Theo Walcott's introduction changed things. He netted moments after coming on before Carlos Puyol was red carded for the challenge that set up Cesc Fabregas' equalising penalty.
Barcelona 4 Arsenal 1 - 2010 With the comfort of two away goals in the bank, Barca overwhelmed their opponents in the return fixture. Lionel Messi was irresistible, scoring four times to break the Gunners' resistance after Nicklas Bendtner kicked off the scoring after only 18 minutes.
