Arsenal mercilessly trolled on Twitter after heavy Bayern defeat leaves them on the brink
Arsenal were in Germany tonight desperate to get a result that could help them into the knockout stages of the Champions League but things did not go their way.
Arsenal trail to a Robert Lewandowski goal after Gabriel tried to spring an offside trap at the wrong time and the Pole nodded home on 11 minutes.
The Gunners thought they had an immediate equaliser from Mesut Ozil found the net but as he wheeled away in celebration the assistant referee behind the goal claimed that he had handled the ball to the net.
Thomas Muller has since doubled the host's advantage with his 19th goal in his last 21 games for club and country.
David Alaba grabbed a stunning third before the break before Arjen Robben was brought on as a second half sub and scored almost immediately.
Olivier Giroud did pull one back with an excellent chest and volley finish from inside the area.
Bayern weren't finished however as Muller bagged his brace in the closing minutes.
Arsenal are bottom of Group F now and need to win their last two games at home to Dinamo Zagreb and in Olympiakos, hope Bayern beat the Greek side and the Gunners victory in the final game will need to be by two or more goals.
