Celtic stroll to victory

Hibs looked shell-shocked after losing a commanding lead and things got worse for Pat Fenlon's side when substitute Robert McHugh converted Henrik Ojamaa's cross two minutes from time.James McPake was dismissed for a second yellow card during injury time to complete a miserable afternoon for the home side, who now trail Motherwell by three points.

Bruce angered by 'cheat' Lee

Hull manager Steve Bruce is determined to get justice for his son Alex after his side's routine 2-0 win over Huddersfield ended in controversy.

The Tigers defender was sent off after the full-time whistle when he shoved Terriers' former Republic of Ireland striker striker Alan Lee in retaliation for an off-the-ball incident and a melee ensued on the pitch and in the tunnel.

Bruce Snr is determined for the right person to be punished, though, and brought a dvd of the incident into the post-match press conference to show reporters footage of Lee clearly offering a forearm smash into the face of his son.

"We are appealing his red, you can understand why,'' Bruce said. "I thought it was cowardly by Alan Lee, I thought more of him. Cheat is the right word for him, I don't use that lightly but that's the right word for him. He's 15-and-a-half stone and he went down like that.

"That has ruined the afternoon, we had the best referee in country in Howard Webb and I have spoken to him. He will report it and hopefully there is some justice.''

Before that unsavoury incident the Tigers had cruised to a third successive win on the bounce courtesy of Robert Koren's eighth-minute strike and an injury-time second from Republic of Ireland international David Meyler, though the win could have been even more convincing.

Brum battle back for point

Battling Birmingham fought back from two goals down to share the points with Championship promotion hopefuls Crystal Palace.

It looked like it was game over when Palace goal machine Glenn Murray made it 20 goals for the season as he completed his double to make it 2-0 on the hour mark. But substitute Nikola Vidic and Papa Bouba Diop levelled things up to ensure Lee Clark's men claimed a share of the spoils.

Cardiff home run halted

Table-topping Cardiff had their perfect home record in the Championship ruined by struggling Peterborough.

The Bluebirds had won all 10 league matches at the Cardiff City Stadium this season but were stunned by a Posh side who had failed to win in eight.

Michael Bostwick put the struggling visitors ahead after 22 minutes with a superb long-range effort and on-loan Dagenham striker Dwight Gayle netted the second two minutes after the interval.

Rudy Gestede's late goal ensured a nervy finish for Darren Ferguson's team, but they held on for three crucial points. The result saw Cardiff's lead at the summit reduced to two points.

Leeds get into mood for Blues

Leeds warmed up for their midweek cup date with Chelsea by getting back to winning ways in the Championship and ending Ipswich's three-match victory streak.

United host the Champions League winners in the League Cup quarter-final on Wednesday, and the gloss would have been taken off that occasion were Neil Warnock's men to have suffered a second straight defeat. But thanks to on-loan winger Jerome Thomas they made sure they will go into their big week on a high.

Thomas, borrowed from West Brom, missed last week's loss at Derby but has now won all four of the games he has played for the Whites and had a starring role, scoring one and setting up another for Paul Green.
