Canaries bite back

Norwich 3 West Ham 1

Mark Bryans

Norwich produced a comeback victory to beat West Ham and ease the pressure on manager Chris Hughton, with three second-half strikes turning the tables on the Hammers at Carrow Road.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce had labelled the match a "six-pointer" earlier in the week and his side led at the break courtesy of Ravel Morrison's third league goal of the season, the striker tucking home Kevin Nolan's cutback.

The Canaries were jeered off at half-time but emerged a much more cohesive unit as Gary Hooper scored his first league goal for the club from the spot, after Jussi Jaaskelainen had hauled him down, before Robert Snodgrass curled in a superb free-kick and Leroy Fer added a late effort to secure a 3-1 win.

Both sides also saw efforts come back off the woodwork but it was Norwich, who had started the day in the bottom three, who held on to take all three points and climb above the Hammers and up to 15th place.
