A lack of game time didn't hinder the Students in their first outing of the season as they more than held their own against a Distillery side playing their fifth game in 17 days.
A tame opening period was brought to life in the 20th minute when Graham Rusk tested Lisburn 'keeper Billy Brennan after Darren Meenan had whipped in a free-kick.
Ex-Student Brennan was certainly the busier of the two goalkeepers in the first half and five minutes before the break he had to stretch again to deny Robbie Creevy after the midfielder had latched onto Rusk's through ball.
Lisburn's first proper chance didn't come until the 65th minute, when Glenn Ferguson pulled two magnificent saves out of Ger Barron in the space of two minutes.
Rusk looked like he'd broken the duck after a fine individual run but with the help of Brennan and the crossbar Lisburn returned to Belfast with a share of the spoils.
