Blow for Martin O'Neill as Harry Kane rules out playing for the Republic of Ireland

Spurs striker Harry Kane has ruled out playing for the Republic of Ireland.
The highly rated Tottenham forward was strongly linked with a call-up to Martin O’Neill’s senior squad after an impressive start to the season.
The London born striker was eligible to play for Ireland through his Galway-born dad but has firmly ruled himself out of declaring for the Republic of Ireland.
Speaking to reporters after Spurs victory over AEL Limassol last night, Kane said he wanted to play for England.
“There’s no decision there,” said Kane. “Obviously I’m playing for England’s Under-21s. I want to break into that senior squad.”
Kane has been named in the England Under -21s squad for the forthcoming games against Lithuania and Moldova in early September.
