Bekomba hat-trick sets DDSL on march

THE Dublin and District Schoolboys League (DDSL) will meet the Limerick and District League in the semi-finals of the SFAI Kennedy Cup at the University of Limerick (UL) this afternoon.

The defending champions beat Limerick County 6-0 courtesy of goals from hat-trick hero Joel Bekomba, Aaron O'Driscoll, Shane Stokes and Mike Nzingo.

Limerick and District edged out Donegal on penalties after a 1-1 draw, while Dylan Smith was on target as Cork beat Athlone 1-0 to set up a semi-final date with the North Dublin Schoolboys League (NDSL), the 2011 champions, who saw off Dundalk 3-1 thanks to goals from Yassine En-Neyah, Sean Trimble and Jason Grouse.

The DDSL, who have notched 17 goals and conceded none in four games, and Cork, who have scored 17 and conceded one, are hot favourites to meet in the final, which will be played tomorrow.

The Kennedy Bowl semi-final line-up is Galway v Kildare and Cavan-Monaghan v Wexford, while in the Shield it's NEC v SDFL and Mayo v West Cork.
