Arsenal forward and Chile captain Alexis Sanchez believes he can hold his own with other "great players" of his generation

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez says he does not "feel inferior" to any of his rival players.

The Chile international helped his country win the Copa America Centenario during the summer, successfully defending their title with a penalty shoot-out victory over Lionel Messi's Argentina.

Sanchez joined the Gunners from Barcelona in a £30million deal two years ago, and has since gone on to lift the FA Cup as well as finishing second in the Premier League last season.

Now installed as captain of La Roja, the 27-year-old has every confidence in his own place on the world stage.

Quoted by Spanish daily newspaper Sport, Sanchez said: "I have reached a level where I can compete with great players.

"I do not feel inferior to anybody."
