20 QUESTIONS WITH OWEN HEARY

1 Who is the funniest player in the dressing room?

Dave Rogers because even when you least expect it he will be able to make a mockery out of something.

2 What are your manager's team-talks like?

He is very passionate. People might look at him and not see him shouting, but believe me when he needs to let fly he does.

3 Apart from your own team who has the most vocal fans?

I'd say Bohs. When you're playing them you can always hear the fans.

4 Who is your favourite player?

Roy Keane and Cafu would be my two favourite players.

5 What is your favourite film?

The Untouchables.

6 What is your favourite music?

The lads will take the mick, but I'd have to say 60's and 70's, the likes of Elvis and the Beatles.

7 What is the last book you read?

Keane: The Autobiography.

8 What improvements could be made to the league?

Training facilities for clubs around the league.

9 Where can you see yourself in two years' time?

Hopefully on the way to lifting another league trophy.

10 What game are you looking forward to most this season?

The first time we meet Cork.

11 Do you support any teams?

I used to follow Bohs and Manchester United.

12 Will Ireland qualify for Euro 2008?

Yes. I think the manager is giving the young lads a chance now and they will be hungry by the time the qualifiers come.

13 Will an Eircom League team qualify for the group stages of the Champions League within the next five years?

I hope so. I think the league is improving all the time and

you can see that in European

results with Cork and

ourselves in the last couple

of years.

14 What is the most memorable moment of your career so far?

Playing against Deportivo in Spain. My son was mascot on the night and it was a great honour to lead out the team.

15 Where is the most memorable place you've seen?

New York.

16 Who has been the biggest influence in your life so far?

Apart from my parents, I would have to say Dermot Keely and Pat Fenlon.

17 What's the best ground in the league?

Excluding Tolka, I'd say Dalymount Park.

18 What's the worst ground in the league?

Down in Cobh was probably the worst I have played in.

19 What do you enjoy doing outside of football?

Spending time with my family.

20 Apart from Shels, who do you think will take top honours in the league this season?

Drogheda United.
