Soaking up the atmosphere (and the rain) on All Ireland Sunday
Expectations were high for both sets of supporters before yesterday’s All Ireland Football final between Dublin and Kerry. We took to the (sodden) streets to pick up some opinions before and after the game.
On a rain soaked afternoon in Dublin Kerry took on Dublin in the All Ireland football final. Fans came from locally and from the far reaches of Kerry with high expectations for the climax to the GAA Football Championship. Marie Crowe, UTV Ireland, braved the conditions to get out on the streets of the capital to find out what the fans’ predictions were ahead of the game.
Both sides were backing their men to take home Sam on the day, but as we know Dublin just had that bit more to get past the sodden conditions and close the game out by three points. After the drama and as the Kerrymen and women faced a long journey home to reflect on what might have been, the Dubs supporters were gearing up to paint the town blue and celebrate Dublin’s third All-Ireland in five years. Marie got the opinions of both sets of fans after the game.
