Shaneshill makes hurdling bow

Shaneshill, winner of the Champion Bumper at Punchestown and second in the Cheltenham equivalent, starts his new career in the Fairyhouse Membership 2015 Maiden Hurdle on Wednesday.

The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old turned the tables on his Cheltenham conqueror Silver Concorde closer to home and rates as one of the most exciting prospects in the novice hurdling division this season.

His Cheltenham reverse, for which he was sent off the 7-2 favourite under Ruby Walsh, was his only defeat in four bumpers.

He starts his new life over two and a half miles and on all known form only faces one serious rival in the shape of Wrath Of Titans, representing Sandra Hughes following the recent death of her father, Dessie.

Earlier on the card Mullins runs two nice prospects in the Premier Jump Weekend November 29th & 30th Hurdle.

Walsh has chosen to ride Aklan, winner of his only start over hurdles at Navan in January. He joined Mullins having achieved a rating of 110 on the Flat with John Oxx.

Paul Townend rides Digeanta, winner of a bumper and his only start over hurdles. He was last seen in the November Handicap at Leopardstown on the level, finishing 12th behind stable companion Clondaw Warrior.

Mullins' Outlander reappears in the Christmas Party Race Day On 20th December At Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle having not been seen since he was a beaten favourite in Punchestown's Champion Bumper of 2013 when sixth to The Liquidator.
