Trevor Croly's Shamrock Rovers added to their Setanta Sports Cup victory with a 2-0 victory over Dundalk today to take the EA SPORTS Cup at Tallaght Stadium..

After a slow start, Rovers broke the deadlock in the 11th minute as Gary McCabe coolly converted a penalty after being taken down in the box himself

Tommy Stewart’s strike in the 58th minute sealed the victory for the Hoops as both sides finished with ten men after Ken Oman and Derek Prendergast were sent off.

It was a much-improved performance from Mick Cooke's men especially considering the 7-1 defeat tehy suffered against the Hoops in the Setanta Sports Cup final earlier in the year, but in truth they never looked like winning.
