Woods seals Gorey glory

Replacement Harry Woods was in the right place at the right time to finish a try with just four minutes remaining to give Gorey CC their first title at this level at Greystones RFC.

This was a hard one to take for St Conleth's. They came in as clear underdogs, but refused to fall into that role. Indeed, left winger Jack Clark nipped in for an early unconverted try that was cancelled out by blindside Eddie Earle's drive to the line on the half-time whistle.

The teams were back where they started, Gorey looking to their pack to exert pressure and St Conleth's hitting quickly on the counter, with full-back Roger Mannion kicking his side back into the lead.

St Conleth's looked like staying there until substitute Woods was the last one at the end of a series of pick-and-gos to eventually cross the line.
