Wicklow RFC's U-7s, 8s, 9s, 10s and 12s had a chance to renew old rivalries and friendships when they travelled to neighbours Arklow RFC for a blitz.

The matches took place in cold but gloriously sunny conditions which contributed to a great morning's rugby. This was the first time the two clubs had met this season so there was great anticipation among all the players.

Wicklow's minis travelled in good numbers and all got into their stride quickly to enjoy some good closely contested games putting all their skills to good use.

The U-8s scored some fine tries in three matches.

The U-9s fielded three teams and put all their tackling and passing skills to good use to produce some fine rugby.

At U-10s level two teams from each club played three evenly contested matches.

Two teams of U-12s played two great matches each with the Wicklow lads showing true grit and determination under pressure.

The physical games resulted in some excellent rugby and plenty of hard-earned tries were scored.
