White set for Brumbies

Super 15 outfit ACT Brumbies will confirm former World Cup-winning coach Jake White as the successor to Andy Friend today -- a post previously linked to Munster supremo Tony McGahan.

Meanwhile, Australian and Waratahs star winger Drew Mitchell could still make the World Cup clash with Ireland later this year despite the horrific dislocated ankle and fractured fibula suffered against the Reds.

"There is a small window there for me to get to the World Cup if I can prove I'm worthy," he said, as he targets a potential return in the August series of Tri Nations fixtures.

Ireland are due to play Australia on September 17 in Eden Park, Auckland.
