Wanderers back in big time thanks to flawless campaign
One of the biggest events on the Leinster rugby calendar – the final of the Provincial Towns Cup – will see Ashbourne and Kilkenny go head to head at the Tullow Rugby Club grounds at Black Gates on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Wanderers will return to the Ulster Bank League following their impressive 51-7 win over Our Lady's Boys Club in Lansdowne Road last Saturday. That result capped an unbeaten run through the AIL round robin tournament.
On the debit side, Suttonians, who were the first Junior club from Leinster to gain promotion to the AIL, will move in the opposite direction after 18 years in the upper echelons of Irish club rugby.
The Cleaning Contractors-sponsored Provincial Towns Cup final is expected to draw a large crowd to the Carlow venue this weekend with the decider being contested for the first time by two clubs from Division 1B of the Leinster League.
