I have a new-found respect for rugby players and their skillset after trying my luck with the oval ball.

I recently met up with Irish women's rugby star Jenny Murphy at her club, Old Belvedere, in Dublin.

I interviewed Jenny on her career so far, her involvement in regular rugby union and 7s rugby for her country and what 2016 and beyond has in store for her.

I'll be trying out new sports and disciplines in the coming weeks to seeing if I can master the techniques and skills associated with the various codes and gain an appreciation for the athletes in each game.

Jenny was able to give me some pointers as I attempted to learn what she makes look so easy on the pitch, going through some basic passing and kicking in my introduction to rugby.

Many sports fans think the skill they see from sports men and women can be easily replicated but when you're faced with the challenge it is more difficult than you might expect.
