Video: Sexton immediately put to work on first day at Racing Metro
JONATHAN SEXTON has landed in Paris and his new club are already putting French rugby’s highest earner to work.
The Ireland and Lions star, who got married less than two weeks ago, visited his new club’s facility on the outskirts of Paris today to meet and greet the staff, try out the club’s gear and pose for his club picture in Racing's old school pale blue and white shirt and leather rugby ball.
And French rugby’s new biggest earner got a taste of what is to come as a camera followed him around while he performed his duties and he was asked to greet his new fans on Twitter, saying: “Hi, I’m Jonathan Sexton. Just to say hello to all of the Racing followers on Twitter, see you during the season.”
Sexton will be joined later this week by fellow Lions Jamie Roberts and Dan Lydiate and, in total, there will be 14 new faces at the club this season.
The Top 14 campaign kicks off earlier than the Irish season, with Racing beginning their season against Brive on August 17.
