Three in-form Irish players were the subject of discussion on BT Sport's Rugby Tonight show last night.

Former England winger Ugo Monye, ex-Wales flanker Ryan Jones and England legend Austin Healy were discussing whether Paddy Jackson could start ahead of Johnny Sexton in the Six Nations and whether Garry Ringrose's impressive displays should lead to him getting his chance.

Healy expects Sexton to hold on to his starting berth despite impressive displays from Jackson in the Champions Cup and Guinness Pro12 in recent weeks.

The Brian O'Driscoll comparisons were out in force again as they discussed Ringrose's Sux Nations prospects but Ryan Jones believes it may be too soon for the Leinster winger.

The panel also touched on the battle for the flyhalf position at Northampton between former Munster star JJ Hanrahan and Stephen Meyler and the Irishman appears to have the edge.
