VIDEO: Rugby player handed three year ban for shocking no-arms tackle on female referee

An Argentine rugby player is facing three years out of the game after tackling a female referee during a match in Italy.

Bruno Doglioli was yellow carded for this no-arms challenge while playing for Vicenza in the Italian Serie A, with the Italian Rugby Federation subsequently handing him a three year ban.

The IRF added that it was the longest ban given to a player in 'two decades'.

Here is the shocking moment when Doglioli tackled referee Maria Beatrice Benvenuti, who was taken to hospital after reportedly suffering whiplash.
