Video: Japan rugby sevens player Kosuke Hashino attempts swan dive - and fails

Kosuke Hashino fluffs his lines with the last move of the game as the ball slips out of his grasp at the vital moment

It was made famous as Chris Ashton's trademark finishing move, but the swan dive isn't for everyone.

With his side leading 26-5 in the last minute of their Hong Kong Sevens match against Italy, Japan's Kosuke Hashino was gifted the chance to finish with a flourish as he raced clear with the try line beckoning.

Wanting to end the match in style, Hashino attempted a swan dive... only for the ball to slip out of his grasp and embarrass him at the crucial moment.

Fortunately the final whistle blew seconds later to ensure Japan won the the match, but Hashino will have to wait a lot longer to live down the shame.
