Wiehahn Herbst looks set for a return to South Africa, according to a report.

Netwerk24 reports that the 30-year-old prop will be released by Ulster and join the Vodacom Bulls ahead of the Super Rugby season.

Herbst joined Ulster from the Sharks in 2014 and is Irish qualified.

He was brought in as a project player to replace John Afoa but his time at the province has been dogged by injuries.
