Noel McNamara confirms Ireland squad for U20 World Championships

Ireland U20 head coach Noel McNamara has confirmed his 28-man squad for next month's World Cup in Argentina.

Ireland go into the tournament after winning a Six Nations Grand Slam earlier this year, but are missing a number of key players through injury such as Scott Penny, David Hawkshaw and Harry Byrne.

McNamara has included seven uncapped players in his squad, with Declan Adamson, Thomas Ahern, Azur Allison, Ciaran Booth and Charlie Ward named in the forwards and Iwan Hughes and Stewart Moore in the backs.

Ireland get their tournament under way againt England on June 4, before facing Australia on June 8 and Italy on June 12.
