Matchday in the RDS is always an exciting occasion. The great wins, near misses, the magic moments. It has a special place in any Leinster fan’s heart.

As some of us are taking breath after a frantic first half of action there are four young teams ready to realise a dream – playing in front of 18,000 people on the pitch in the RDS.

That is what happens at each home game when for 10 or so minutes the youngsters get to emulate their heroes and grace the hallowed turf in the D4tress. This season an amazing 66 teams have had the opportunity to play at half-time during a Leinster game in the Aviva Stadium, Donnybrook and, of course, the RDS.

The crowd has been entertained by some great games this season and who knows, some of these players may go on to play for Leinster one day. The games have all been played in a great spirit and the players on show have a memory they’ll cherish forever.

A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes to make these games possible and Leinster Rugby would like to thank Norman O’Leary, Donal Carroll, Ciaran Kelly, Dave Ballesty, Dara Donoghue, Graham Carroll, Garrett Lynch, Fiona McConn, Ed Doyle and Susan Carty for making each matchday a success. Leinster Rugby would also like to thank the half-time minis sponsors, Bank of Ireland.
