On the latest episode of The Left Wing, Will Slattery is joined by Tony Ward and Des Berry for another schools rugby special.

Gonzaga’s sensational win over Blackrock is a big discussion point as the panel review the opening round in Leinster and look ahead to the quarter-finals.

Gonzaga's reward for their opening upset is a tie against favourites St Michael's, who return 13 players from the 23-man squad who won last year's tournament.

After the opening round in Leinster, Tony and Des have pegged Clongowes as dark horses following their impressive win over Terenure.

In Munster, PBC and CBC have both booked their place in the semi-finals, while Alex Wood, son of Keith Wood, is the out-half on the St Munchin's team looking to join them in the last four.

Things are just starting to heat up in Ulster while in Connacht, Tony thinks that Roscommon CBS could make a big impact at both senior and junior level.

The lads also check in on the progress in Munster, Connacht and Ulster and pick out a number of players to watch.
