Supporters' sacrifices fire Sherry up to build on European run

The huge support enjoyed by Munster in their Heineken Cup march this season has given the players a real drive to succeed in the next campaign, according to hooker Mike Sherry.

The Limerick man, who made 27 appearances in his busiest season yet with Munster, said that the Heineken Cup semi-final and quarter-final were special days.

"There is a huge connection with the fans, it's a huge emotional affair with people travelling over to games.

"You see the effort they make to get here, the travel they do, the money they spend, and that makes the boys all the more determined to succeed," said the 24-year-old (left), who came through the Munster Academy before making his debut in December 2009.

The Garryowen clubman, who has amassed 61 Munster appearances, said they were already looking forward to next season when they hope to build on the progress made this year.
