Stringer aims to bring 'A' game

Munster 'A' v Aberavon,
Tralee, 1.0

PETER STRINGER was once a fixture of Munster's big Heineken Cup days, but the scrum-half won't be gracing Thomond Park today and, instead, will be running out at Tralee RFC in the British and Irish Cup.

The 98-cap Ireland international is part of a strong Munster 'A' side who are looking to build on their opening-day win against Plymouth Albion last weekend.

They'll be expected to beat Port Talbot-based Aberavon, who are bottom of the Welsh Premiership. They opened their campaign with a 25-21 defeat to Rotherham Titans last time out.

Verdict: Munster 'A'

MUNSTER 'A' -- L O'Dea; R O'Mahony, D Barnes, C Bohane, C Hircock; S Deasy, P Stringer; A Cotter, S Henry (Capt), J Ryan; I Nagle, D Foley; D O'Callaghan, B O'Mahony, T O'Donnell. Reps: D Casey, C Condon, B Hayes, S Buckley, C Sheridan, J Holland, I Dineen.
