France's prop Uini Atonio is blocked during the Six Nations clash against Scotland. Tony Ward has described the stuttering victory as "desperately sad".

Irish Independent rugby correspondent Ruaidhri O'Connor was joined by former Irish internationals Neil Francis and Tony Ward to review Round One of the 2015 Six Nations and were not impressed by Les Bleus.

Tony was impressed by the nature of England's victory in Cardiff, especially given their lengthy injury list, thought Ireland were convincing without giving much away.

Neil Francis has been impressed by how Stuart Lancaster has turned around the fortunes while under a lot of pressure from the English public and found the performance of France "desperately sad" and described Scotland as composed in dealing with anything the French threw at them.

He believes Ireland should be happy with their performance even though there is plenty of room for improvement.
