Irish Independent rugby writers Ruaidhri O'Connor and David Kelly have been assessing Ireland's 26-3 over Italy at the Stadio Olimpico.

Rustiness, a lack of ball carriers, a high error count  and the late withdrawal of Sean O'Brien were cited as the reasons for Ireland's below par display.

Ian Keatley played well but both men agree that Jonny Sexton must start against the French despite the fact that he hasn't played in 12 weeks.
